This 7-day Morocco tour is designed as a once-in-a-lifetime journey, with professional guides, comfortable transport, and carefully chosen accommodations to make your trip smooth, enjoyable, and memorable.
We'll meet you at your hotel in Casablanca or at Casablanca Airport and drive to Rabat, Morocco's capital. Here, you'll visit the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the picturesque Kasbah of the Udayas.
You then continue to the famous Blue City of Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains. Upon arrival, you'll check into your riad in the magical blue medina.
Spend a relaxed full day wandering Chefchaouen's vibrant, blue-painted medina. Explore its history, hidden corners, and small local shops. This is a wonderful place to buy unique crafts and handmade souvenirs you won’t find elsewhere.
We recommend a visit to the Spanish Mosque, which offers both cultural interest and panoramic views over the town and its blue-washed buildings. In the evening, enjoy the lively atmosphere in the main square, where cafés and restaurants serve delicious local dishes. Overnight at the same riad in Chefchaouen
After breakfast, you leave Chefchaouen and drive through scenic countryside with rolling fields of wheat, seasonal wildflowers, and traditional metal-roofed farmhouses. Winding rivers and green valleys add a peaceful feel to the journey. Your first stop is the town of Ouazzane, known for its excellent honey and figs.
Next, you'll explore the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a 3rd-century UNESCO World Heritage Site. The site's columns, mosaics, triumphal arch, and network of streets and houses offer a clear window into life in ancient North Africa and the Roman era in Morocco.
From Volubilis, you continue to Meknes, an imperial city founded by the Almoravids in the 11th century as a military settlement. Meknes became a capital in the 17th century under Sultan Moulay Ismail, who introduced a distinctive Hispano-Moorish architectural style. Highlights include the monumental Bab Mansour gate, the city ramparts, the royal granaries, and the Sahrij Swani Basin.
After visiting Meknes, you'll drive on to Fes, Morocco's spiritual and cultural capital, and check into your traditional riad in the medina.
After breakfast at your riad, you'll meet your local guide for a full-day guided tour of Fes. The day includes both walking and short drives, so you can see as much as possible without feeling rushed.
You'll start with the grand seven gates of the Royal Palace and continue to the Mellah (Jewish quarter), once a major commercial district. You'll also visit a pottery cooperative, where artisans hand-paint traditional zellige tilework on plates, tagines, and tiles using techniques passed down for centuries. A panoramic viewpoint then offers sweeping views over the old city.
Afterward, you'll enter the medina of Fes for a traditional Fes-style lunch.
In the afternoon, you'll explore the medina’s important cultural and religious sites, as well as its narrow souks filled with spices, food stalls, handicrafts, and workshops. You'll also visit the famous tanneries, where leather is still dyed using age-old methods.
Fes has around 9,000 streets within its car-free medina, making a local guide invaluable. The city is also home to Al-Qarawiyyin—considered the world's oldest continuously operating university, with a mosque and library founded in 859 by a woman, Fatima al-Fihri.
After a full day of exploring, you'll return to your riad for the night.
After breakfast, you'll depart for the Sahara Desert on this exciting journey. Your first stop is Ifrane, known as “the little Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style architecture and clean, orderly streets.
From there, you'll enter the Cedar Forest of the Middle Atlas Mountains , where you're likely to see Barbary macaques in their natural habitat.
You'll stop in Midelt for lunch, then follow the Ziz Valley, with several viewpoints offering sweeping views of palm oases and deep gorges.
As you continue south, the scenery changes: mountains give way to plateaus and desert plains, rivers to dry wadis, and you may see nomad families with their herds. Passing through Errachidia and Erfoud, you'll begin to feel the presence of the Sahara.
From Erfoud, you'll travel through Berber towns and villages toward Rissani, once the capital of Sijilmassa and the birthplace of Morocco's current ruling Alaouite dynasty.
Soon, the open desert unfolds before you, and you arrive in Merzouga, where you are welcomed with a glass of mint tea. Here, your camels will be waiting to take you across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes to your desert camp.
At the camp, enjoy a traditional dinner, then sit around the campfire listening to Berber music under the stars. Local musicians play traditional drums such as the tam-tam and bendir while singing desert songs.
The Sahara Desert is especially magical at dawn, when the light slowly moves across the Erg Chebbi dunes, and the silence is almost complete. You'll wake early to watch the sunrise and fully appreciate the stillness of the desert.
After breakfast at the camp, you'll ride camels back across the dunes, often in near silence, then return to Merzouga to meet your driver. From there, you head to Rissani, passing adobe kasbah villages and endless palm groves.
Next, you travel to Tinghir and continue into the Todra Gorges. With cliffs rising to 300 meters and narrowing to just 10 meters at some points, this canyon is a favorite among rock climbers. You'll have time to walk along the river and enjoy the crystal-clear water and sheer rock walls.
You then continue to the Dades Valley, where erosion has sculpted unusual rock formations known as “Monkey Fingers.” Here, you'll spend the night in a comfortable hotel and enjoy a warm Moroccan dinner.
After breakfast, you set off along the Rose Valley, also known as the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. You'll pass many rose-colored adobe kasbahs and fields edged with Damascus roses, grown here for their fragrant essential oil.
In Kelaat M'gouna, you'll stop at a rose cooperative to see how rose products are made and to purchase rose water or other scented gifts if you wish.
Your journey continues to the palm oasis of Skoura, then on to Ouarzazate, known as the "Hollywood of Africa" for its film studios and desert backdrops. From here, you travel to Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified ksar and UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In Ait Ben Haddou, you'll have lunch and then take a guided tour (about 45 minutes) through the ancient mud-brick lanes. You'll climb to the old granary for panoramic views over the valley. Your guide will explain the site's history as a caravan stop on the trans-Saharan trade route and point out filming locations from movies such as Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, and Prince of Persia.
Back on the road, you cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass at 2,260 meters. The road is winding, with several viewpoints where you can stop for photos or visit a women's argan oil cooperative.
You then descend into the plains and arrive in Marrakech, where your 7-day Morocco tour ends with a drop-off at your accommodation.

Ibrahim was a wonderful driver and a fantastic guide. He speaks excellent English and Spanish, and he was very helpful with all our questions. The desert camp experience was the highlight of our trip. We highly recommend requesting Ibrahim!"
"We had an amazing tour for seven days with Aziz, which included Casablanca, Fes, the Sahara Desert, and Marrakech. Aziz, our driver, was personable, on time, and informative. His knowledge of Berber culture in Morocco and the history of the country enhanced our trip greatly. The desert camp experience was wonderful and beyond our expectations. The camel trek at sunset was unforgettable. We would definitely recommend requesting Aziz for your tour."
My family and I just returned from an incredible 7-day trip from Casablanca to Marrakech with Morocco Camel Trekking. This experience was one of the best we have ever had. Morocco Camel Trekking took care of every detail, from accommodations to meals. We had knowledgeable guides in each city, allowing us to customize the tour to fit our specific desires and needs.
Expect to spend a lot of time in the car while exploring Morocco, and Idir, our driver, was outstanding. He truly made the trip special and went above and beyond on several occasions. The night we spent in the Sahara Desert was magical. Do yourself a favor and book with Morocco Camel Trekking, and be sure to request Idir as your driver.
One of the best ways to visit Morocco is if you want to see the majority of the country's highlights, not lose 'travel days,' and have a limited time in which to see everything. I highly recommend this company.
My driver, Ibrahim, was wonderful, incredibly helpful, and accommodating. Could not be happier—very reliable and trustworthy. I never anticipated becoming such a close friend this week. He was always willing to stop and take pictures (which I take a lot!), take side adventures, and if I wanted to visit an additional highlight and it was feasible in our schedule, he would make it happen. He even took me to have lunch with his family upon request, so I could meet his sister's family along the way!
The camel ride and desert camp were absolutely the highlight. Very well organized to give you the greatest experience possible in a week.
