The journey begins with a late-afternoon camel ride through the golden dunes to a traditional Berber desert camp. You'll then be greeted with refreshing Moroccan mint tea and a delicious Moroccan dinner under the starry sky of the Sahara Desert. You will then sleep in a comfortable nomadic tent with warm bedding.
You'll wake up early to see the stunning sunrise in the desert, then enjoy breakfast before returning to the town of Merzouga on a camel. This trip is truly a memorable experience, providing a genuine taste of Berber culture and the breathtaking serenity of the Sahara Desert.
Detailed Itinerary of Your Erg Chebbi Desert Trek
Day 1 – Sunset Camel Ride and Berber Desert Camp
In the afternoon, you will start your camel trek led by an experienced guide across the beautiful sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, deep into the desert.
When you arrive at the camp, you will be shown to your private Berber tent (designed for two people or a family) with all of your belongings. After getting settled, you will climb the largest dune to watch a lovely sunset and take some great pictures.
Later, you will return to camp and enjoy a traditional Berber dinner. After dinner, you will enjoy a campfire experience with local drumming and singing, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the desert's culture.
You will spend the night in the nomadic desert camp.
Day 2 – Sahara Sunrise and Return to Merzouga Village
You will wake up early to see the sun rise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, you will be transported back to your hotel or riad after your overnight camel trekking trip.
