Your adventure will begin with a late-afternoon camel ride over the golden sand dunes to the Berber desert camp. At the camp, you can relax with refreshing Moroccan mint tea and a delicious local Berber dinner—all under the vast night sky illuminated by countless stars. Afterward, fall asleep in a cozy nomadic tent with soft bedding and tranquil surroundings.
On the second day of your experience, continue your trek by visiting a welcoming nomad family living in the desert. Detailed Itinerary for the 2-Night Camel Trek in Merzouga
Day 1 – Sunset Camel Ride and Berber Desert Cam
Your journey will begin in the afternoon as your guide takes you through the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Once you have arrived at your camp, you will be shown to your private Berber tent, which will have enough room for two or for a family.
Once you have unpacked, head up the highest dune to watch the sunset and capture fantastic photos of the experience.
By evening, return to dinner in true Berber style, while enjoying a campfire in the desert with drumming and singing. You will spend the first night at an overnight desert camp under the stars.
Day 2 – Sahara Sunrise, Oasis Visit, and Sandboarding
Wake early to experience the incredible sunrise over the dunes and enjoy breakfast at the camp.
After a tasty breakfast, you will take a memorable visit with a kind nomadic family who lives in the desert. There, you will have the opportunity to learn about their fascinating way of life and enjoy a delicious Berber pizza lunch, while gaining a deeper understanding of their culture and education.
In the afternoon, you will head back to the camp for the next desert activity, where you will try your hand at sandboarding on the dunes and reflect on inner peace in the desert.
In the evening, you will head to the camp for a night’s rest, dinner, music, and stargazing for your second night.
Day 3 – Sunrise and Return to Merzouga
Wake up early for a fantastic sunrise in the desert.
Have breakfast at your camp, then ride your camel back to your hotel or riad in Merzouga, where your camel trek ends.
