DAY 01 - Tangier ⇢ Rif Mountains ⇢ Chefchaouen

Your 6-day tour from Tangier to Marrakech begins with a warm welcome at Tangier airport, one of its ports, or at your local hotel; your friendly local guide will greet you and accompany you throughout the trip.

After arriving, you'll take a scenic drive to the beautiful Chefchaouen, located in the Rif Mountains of northern Morocco. Once you arrive, check into your well-appointed hotel or riad in the lovely town, known for its signature blue streets. Spend some time sightseeing, shopping in the local souks (markets), sipping mint tea at a local café, and dining on an authentic Moroccan meal in this special town.

After a busy day of sightseeing and discovery, you will spend the evening in a lovely riad or hotel. Enjoy the quiet ambiance and finish off a wonderful day in Chefchaouen.

DAY 02 - Chefchaouen ⇢ Volubilis ⇢ Meknes ⇢ Fes

Your day starts with breakfast in your riad, followed by a drive through the picturesque Rif villages to enjoy the peaceful Moroccan countryside. You'll drive to Volubilis, a historic site of a former Roman city and the first site you will explore, with ancient ruins noted for their stunning mosaics and public buildings built in the 3rd century. Walking through the ruins of Volubilis allows one to connect with the Romans who lived there and to consider the past in every stone.

The next city on the itinerary is Meknes, a city steeped in history as Morocco’s capital in the 17th century. After enjoying a delicious lunch, you will discover Meknes’ historic medina, also surrounded by ancient walls and home to the iconic Bab el Mansour gate. Marvel at the intricate designs and beautiful, detailed carvings of the beautiful gate - a great representation of Moroccan craftsmanship. Your exploration will continue with a visit to the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, an important religious site honoring the Sultan.

After a full day of exploration across Volubilis and Meknes, you will continue on to Fes, where you can unwind and spend one night in a lovely riad. This will conclude a spectacular day of cultural and historical exploration.

DAY 03 - Guided tour of Fes

Prepare yourself to experience the classic charm of Fes, one of the most enchanting imperial cities in Morocco. Fes is a city defined by tradition and culture. So, travel back in time and enjoy a day of history, culture, and incredible architecture.

Your day will begin at the grand gates of the Royal Palace, which serves as a beautiful introduction to the regal history of Fes. Then we will embark on an exploration of the depths of the old Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, guided by your local guide through the winding laneways and busy souks, where you will experience the significance of Fes. You will enjoy visiting several other sites, including Al-Qarawiyyin University, the Al-Attarine Madrasa, the incredible Nejjarine Fountain, and the vibrant Chouara Tanneries.

The tour continues into the historic Jewish quarter (Mellah), where you can learn more about the multiculturalism and Jewish history intertwined with Fes's tapestry. Finally, the last stop on your guided tour takes you to the old hilltop fort, where you will enjoy vast 360-degree views of Fes, perfect for reflection and photos.

This experience offers an array of history, spirituality, and daily life in one of Morocco's most legendary cities. Your day will be guided by a local expert, who can further propel the learning experience. After a full day of exploration, you will return to your riad in Fes to relax and unwind.

DAY 04 - Fes ⇢ Ifrane ⇢ Middle Atlas Mountains ⇢ Ziz Valley ⇢ Merzouga desert

After breakfast at your riad in Fes, you will start an exciting excursion into the desert. You will head south to Merzouga, with an enjoyable stop in Ifrane for a scenic break and views.

As you make your way south, you will come across a cedar forest in the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you may meet Barbary apes in a beautiful setting. You can enjoy a nice lunch in a restaurant before continuing your journey into the wonderful valley of Ziz, a fertile oasis full of palm trees.

You will get to Merzouga in the afternoon, where you will depart on a traditional camel caravan to cross the beautiful Erg Chebbi sand dunes. You will traverse the majesty of the desert while climbing up a large dune to watch a mesmerizing sunset. Afterward, you will arrive at the luxury desert camp.

Once you arrive at the camp, you will have the chance to get settled into your private tent to relax, enjoy a wonderful dinner, and then gather around the fire pit under the stars. You are welcome to participate in the drumming and music provided by the tent staff.

DAY 05 - Merzouga desert ⇢ Rissani ⇢ Todra Gorge ⇢ Dades Valley

Begin your day with an excellent wake-up call so you won’t miss the sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast, you can continue your journey from the camp to the nearby town of Merzouga on either a camel or a 4x4. Your driver will take you on a new adventure towards the Dades Valley.

Along the way, you will have the chance to visit beautiful places, including the market in Rissani (if traveling on Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday). You will have the opportunity to stroll along the notable Todra Gorge, where you will see the beauty of the Todra River flowing by.

Finally, you will view the unique rock formations of Dades Valley, which look like monkey fingers. Drive along the scenic Dades Valley with stunning views along the Dades Gorges until you reach your accommodation for the night. Enjoy a relaxing evening at a lovely hotel.

DAY 06 - Dades Valley ⇢ Ouarzazate ⇢ Ait Ben Haddou ⇢ High Atlas Mountains ⇢ Marrakech

As your 6-day trip comes to a close with your final day's journey to Ouarzazate (the "Hollywood of Africa" and "Gateway to the Desert"), you will have the option to visit Atlas Studios, Morocco's largest film studio, and experience some of the famous movie sets.

From there, you will head to Ait Ben Haddou and its famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). The Kasbah has served as a backdrop for many films, including Indiana Jones and Gladiator, and the famous series Game of Thrones. Explore and learn the history of these sites, and enjoy the fantastic architecture and rich past.

After lunch, you will drive over the spectacular High Atlas Mountains, enjoying sweeping views of the landscape around. You will reach Marrakech by late afternoon and conclude this amazing 6-day desert tour from Tangier to Marrakech.
