We start the 7-day excursion from Agadir on the first day. When you arrive at Agadir airport, a member of our crew will greet you and transport you to your accommodation.
After enjoying breakfast and relaxing, we will travel to Ouarzazate, often referred to as the “Hollywood of Africa,” for the renowned movies shot in its famed studios while passing through the Berber city of Taroudant. Continue on our journey to Taliouine, the city in the Saffron Valley. Continue on to Taznakht, a small hamlet where you will visit a shop that makes Berber carpets, for which the city is well-known.
We will then have a break in Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, Morocco’s most exquisite Kasbah (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987). Then visit Kasbah Taourirt in Ouarzazate. Stay overnight at a riad or hotel in Ouarzazate.
After breakfast in Ouarzazate, we’ll head to the Draa Valley, where you can observe one of Morocco’s longest rivers. On the journey, we pause to take pictures and admire the stunning kasbahs and Berber settlements that line the road, as well as the natural beauty of the Draa Valley.
You’ll have some free time for lunch in Nkob or Alnif before driving for two hours to the beautiful Sahara Desert. “Desert of Golden Sand Dunes.” Ride your camels through Erg Chebbi’s sandy dunes to enter a mystical realm. It offers a sweeping view of the breathtaking sunsets in the Sahara. You will ultimately arrive at our campsite in a state of relaxation. After breakfast, we will embark on our spectacular desert adventure by exploring the neighboring areas of the magnificent Erg Chebbi. We will drive off-road to meet nomadic families living near Erg Chebbi’s sand dunes. This will provide an opportunity to observe their lifestyle and understand how they managed to survive in the arid Sahara Desert by carrying a cup of mint tea.
Next, we will visit the M’Fis mines, located on a high plateau that offers a spectacular panoramic view of Erg Chebbi and the desert scenery. After that, we will journey to Khamlia (Gnaoua village), home to Black Africans with a rich history of contact with the Sahara. Their ancestors originated from central and western Africa, and they traveled through the Sahara Desert to arrive in southeastern Morocco. We will delve deeper into their culture and enjoy their traditional music.
After the traditional Gnaoua music, we will have a delightful lunch of Berber pizza. Following that, we will return to your hotel/riad in Merzouga.
Today, after breakfast, we will begin our journey to Dades Valley. The largest traditional market in southern Morocco is in Rissani, our first stop.
We will then visit Erfoud, one of the earliest places to find valuable and unusual fossils, followed by Touroug and Tinjdad, where you can have lunch at a local restaurant.
Next, we will proceed to our unique destination, the Todra Gorges, which is Morocco’s tallest and narrowest gorge, standing 300 meters tall and 20 meters apart at its narrowest point. People also recognize it as one of the world’s most stunning canyons.
After a short walk around the massive cliffs and admiring the breathtaking scenery, we will drive to the Dades Valley, where you will spend the night with an authentic meal in a riad or hotel.
Today, we’ll depart Dades Gorges for Agadir. However, before you travel to Agadir, you will discover the best of Dades Valley. Then you’ll go over the Thousand Kasbahs Road, a breathtaking journey through stunning desert vistas, villages, and palm groves in the Dades Valley between the Atlas and Anti-Atlas mountain ranges. The drive is breathtaking, with hundreds of kasbahs lining the way as you pass through gorgeous desert vistas, villages, palm groves, and the enormous Jebel Sarhro lunar scenery to the south. Mostly asphalted, the tourist route offers a varied and magnificent panorama of Kasbahs.
The route offers an exhilarating driving experience amidst breathtaking views. These magnificent tributes to Berber art are unique in the world. Next, we’ll pause to visit Kalaat M’Gouna (Valley of Roses), where you can purchase rose items. Every year in May, there is a rose festival. We then proceed to Agadir via Taznakht, Ouarzazate, and Taliouine. By the evening, we will drop you off at your Agadir lodging.
