This 3-day round trip from Fez to Merzouga takes you through Morocco´s most amazing and diverse scenery. After an early pickup, we leave the medieval city of Fes for the Todra Gorge. We pass through Ifrane to arrive in the great cedar forests of Azrou. There, you can watch the wild native Barbary monkeys. You can also photograph some of the wildlife in Morocco. A traditional, delicious lunch will be served in the small Berber village of Zaida
Then we will continue our Merzouga desert tour. We will drive through the Atlas Mountains and enjoy the landscapes of Midelt and the small town of Rich. Then, we will pass through the famous town of Imilchil before arriving at the Todra Gorge in the evening. The gorge has 300-meter-high walls. It is quite spectacular. Crystal-clear waters flow, and flora grows there. You will spend the night in a hotel in Tinghir with dinner and breakfast.
After breakfast, we drive from Todra Gorge to the Merzouga Desert. Many adobe Berber villages are scattered along the way. We will pass through Tinjdad, Jorf, and Erfoud. There, we will see the start of the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet.
Then we continue our tour to Merzouga, and from there we ride the camels in the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Before we reach our desert camp, we leave the camels and walk to the highest dune to see the sunset. Dinner is served in a Berber tent with traditional local music. You may be able to see the stars overhead. This is a memorable experience. We recommend it to everyone. They should discover it at least once in their lifetime.
After an early alarm call to watch the sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes, we will ride the camels back to Merzouga. Then, after a shower and breakfast, we'll drive back to Fes, through the Middle Atlas Mountains. We'll visit the mighty Ziz Valley, Midelt, and Azrou. Finally, we arrive in Fes, where our Fes desert tour finishes.
