My partner and I just got back from a 2-night camel trekking tour from Marrakech, we had an incredible time. We spent 1 night in a camp in the desert with drums tea and billions of stars, it took about 90 minutes on the camel to get to camp and then we got up early the next morning to watch the sunrise over the sand dune before our 90-minute trek back to the hotel.
Our driver Idir was the best, he always took us anywhere we wanted to go and nothing was ever a hassle for him. He gave us a lot of information about the traditions and culture of Morocco, his English was also great! Thankyou Idir. The accommodation was good, the first night we spent at Hotel Babylon within a gorge and it was a really beautiful place. The perfect way to explore Morocco in a short time.
We booked a 3-day 2-night camel tour on Dec 21, one night at Xaluca Hotel and one night in a Sahara desert camp (There is hot water, a very clean bed, and good quality food). This was an unforgettable trip, especially for our honest and humble tour guide-Mohamed, he did an excellent job during the entire trip, drove safely, spoke honestly, was very patient, respected, and took care of his customers!
Our first time in Morocco and this tour did not disappoint. Idir was an incredible guide and it was so much fun driving around Morocco with him. We wouldn’t have been able to do all that we did on our own, and Idir went out of his way to make sure we had a genuine experience of the culture and food. He even organized for us to celebrate Eid al-Adha with a local family in the desert – a once-in-a-lifetime and purely unique experience. Would recommend this tour and company to all! If you are interested, ask for Idir.
Fantastic! This is truly a must-do experience. Our guides Aziz and Mohamed were phenomenal. Our private tour allowed us to stop and visit rug and argain cooperatives, a local fossil site, and truly learn about the Arab and Berber cultures. The landscape was incredible and the camel ride and night in the desert camp were extraordinary. I can’t say enough good things about our guides and tour, except we’ll be back again next year for a longer visit.
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful trip through the Moroccan countryside with our very kind, helpful, and good-spirited guide, Ibrahim. This tour features all the highlights of the Atlas Mountains and Sahara desert – wonderful mountainous views, delicious traditional tajine dishes, and of course a camel trek into the Sahara with a stunning view of the sunset and sunrise. Our guide even invited us to his home to have a Berber pizza for lunch, cooked to perfection by his sister. Best of all, this trip provided the human connection of getting to know the Berber (Amazigh) people and their culture.
I would highly recommend this trip and guide. We felt safe and in good hands the entire way.
P.S. The desert gets very cold in December so pack plenty of layers (we slept under seven blankets in the Berber tent in the Erg Chebbi dunes).
