12 Day private tour from Casablanca Marrakech to Merzouga, Fes, Chefchaouen and Marrakech

This was hands down the best tour and road trip I've ever had! We are a couple traveling in Morocco for the first time and it's extremely helpful to have a driver that knows exactly where to go (considering you’ll be spending a lot of time on the road). Ibrahim drove us from Marrakech to Merzouga, and Idir took care of us for the remainder of the trip, driving us from Merzouga to Fes, Rabat, Casablanca, and lastly Essaouira. Both excellent are drivers and knowledgeable, Ibrahim is very helpful and knows the locals well, and Idir is super friendly and made it a fun and relaxing experience. Idir always ensured we arrived at our riad safely and offered to let us take pictures along the way whenever we wanted. He would even go above and beyond on certain occasions. The tour itself was fantastic, even for 12 days, there was a lot to explore. The scenery and the landscapes are ever-changing in Morocco, from the snow-capped Atlas mountains to the gorgeous rustic red Dadés Gorge, the smooth sandy dunes in the Sahara desert. The most unique part of the adventure was camel trekking in the desert. The weather held up beautifully. We watched the sunset, the stars came out at night, we enjoyed a delicious Moroccan meal family-style and entertainment singing Berber songs, and all of us got to play the drums. We shared the campsite with two other couples, and it was someone’s birthday, so they served birthday cake, sang happy birthday, and enjoyed wine that the other couple shared with all of us. The next morning, we watched the sunrise and trekked back to the hotel, where we had breakfast. I would recommend bringing a small backpack and an extra jacket for the overnight stay. We enjoyed exploring the medina in Fes with our tour guide Aziz and wandering in the streets of the charming blue city of Chefchaouen. We visited the tombs in Rabat and caught a lovely sunset by the coastline. Each city had such character with Berber, Arab, Andalusian, and French influences. The architecture and interiors are stunning. The riads we stayed in during the Grand Morocco tour were very pleasant, especially the one situated in the Dades mountains. I appreciate the flexibility of Morocco Camel Trekking, as I was able to customize our desert tours to include the last 2 days in Essaouira to relax before our long flight back to Canada. Big thanks to Idir for driving us and for being an absolute pleasure to be around!
