Morocco Itinerary 5 Days

Day 1: Casablanca to Chefchaouen

Begin your 5-day adventure in Morocco with a friendly greeting at Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport or your hotel. Our friendly local guide will be there to accompany you. 

From there, we’ll take an exciting journey to Chefchaouen, ​a picturesque town nestled in northern Morocco’s Rif Mountains. 

Upon arrival in Chefchaouen, you will check into your lovely hotel/riad and have free time to explore the city and its famous blue-painted streets. Chefchaouen is renowned for its distinctive and picturesque blue-washed buildings. Take a stroll through the narrow streets to visit the bustling markets, or relax in one of the charming cafes and restaurants serving delectable Moroccan cuisine.

 You will spend the night in a lovely riad/hotel, where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. It’s the perfect way to cap off an exciting day in Chefchaouen.

Day 2: Chefchaouen -Fes-Guided Tour

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel/riad and prepare for an unforgettable trip to Fes.

When you arrive in Fes, a knowledgeable local guide will be eagerly awaiting you. They will show you all the amazing things this medieval city has to offer. Walk through the historic streets, take in the fascinating history, and admire the stunning architecture. You can enjoy a delicious lunch in the bustling medieval Medina, where you can sample the authentic flavors and aromas of local cuisine.

After a day of exploring, you will have the opportunity to unwind at a beautiful riad in the heart of Fes old Medina. This unique location will be like your own peaceful retreat amidst the bustling city. As you settle into your new home for the night, take some time to relax and enjoy Fes’ charm.

Day 3: Fes-Ifrane—Middle Atlas Mountains—Ziz Valley—Merzouga Desert.

After breakfast at your riad in Fes, we will embark on an unforgettable desert adventure. Our journey will lead us south to Merzouga, where the desert awaits. Before continuing, we’ll stop in charming Ifrane to relax and admire the scenery.

Continuing our journey, we will cross the Middle Atlas Mountains and stop to explore a cedar forest. You will have the opportunity to observe Barbary apes in their natural habitat. Following that, we will stop for a satisfying lunch at a restaurant along the way to ensure you have enough energy to continue.

As we progress, we will enter the captivating Ziz Valley, which is known for its lush palm tree oasis. You’ll see this lush landscape before we get to the desert.

In the afternoon, we will arrive in the desert, where your authentic camel caravan experience will begin. Ride your trusty camel through Erg Chebbi’s breathtaking sand dunes. During the trek, we will stop to watch a breathtaking sunset from a high dune, creating a truly magical experience.

We will continue our camel trekking adventure until we reach a luxury camp. When you arrive, we will show you to your private tent, where you can relax and freshen up. As night falls, our camp staff will serve a delicious dinner featuring local cuisine. Gather around a cozy bonfire under the stars, where our camp staff will keep you entertained with lively drumming and enchanting Berber music. You will even be able to learn how to play the drums yourself, adding an extra layer of excitement to the evening’s festivities.

The driving time is about 7 hours and 30 minutes.

Day 4: Merzouga Desert—Rissani—Todra Gorge—Dades Gorge.

We highly recommend getting up early today to see the magnificent sunrise over Erg Chebbi’s dunes. After a delicious breakfast, you can choose to ride a camel or take a 4×4 vehicle to Merzouga. Your guide/driver will be ready to guide you on the next leg of your tour to Dades Gorge.

During your trip, you will have the opportunity to visit fascinating places such as the traditional market in Rissani (if you go on a market day—Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday). You’ll also enjoy a delightful stroll through the breathtaking Todra Gorge, where you can take in the picturesque views of the Todra River.

As we continue towards Dades Gorge, prepare to be amazed by the incredible rock formations that resemble monkey fingers. Enjoy a scenic drive through the Dades Valley, taking in the panoramic beauty of the Berber Village before arriving at your hotel for the night. Rest comfortably in a lovely hotel and enjoy a peaceful overnight stay.

Driving distance: approximately 310 kilometers. Driving time is approximately 5 hours.

Day 5: Dades Gorge-Ouarzazate-Aït Benhaddou-High Atlas Mountain-Marrakech. 

On the final day of your 5 day Morocco itinerary, we’ll drive to Ouarzazate, also known as the “Hollywood of North Africa” and the “Gateway to the Desert.” While there, you can choose to visit Atlas Studios, Morocco’s largest film studio. It provides an opportunity to visit famous movie sets and gain insight into the filmmaking process.

After we’ve explored the studios, we’ll travel to Ait Ben Hadou. You will have the opportunity to explore the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has appeared in numerous films, including “The Gladiator” and “Lawrence of Arabia.” Take your time exploring this historic site, admiring the intricate architecture and exquisite decorations.

Following a satisfying lunch at a local restaurant, we will continue our journey through the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, take in the breathtaking scenery. Finally, in the late afternoon, we will arrive in Marrakech to conclude your 5-day Morocco itinerary. Drop off at your accommodation or Marrakech airport.
