5 Days Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga

Day 1: MARRAKECH – HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS – KASBAH AIT BEN HADDOU – Skoura – DADES gorges

The tour will start At 8 am from Marrakech to Dades Valley we will drive through the High Atlas Mountains. Tizi N’Tichka passes and enjoys the various landscape views. On the route, we will have a break for tea with mint or coffee and photos.
The next break will be in Ait Benhaddou. Visit the best-known Kasbah (UNESCO designated it as a World Heritage Site in 1987). Many famous films, including Gladiator, Obelix, and The Jewel of the Nile. Have some free time.

Next, we head to Dades Valley. We pass through the palm groves of Skoura and the Rose Valley. This town hosts a yearly festival in May. It’s also famous for its cosmetic products. The local rose products are the lifeblood of a small Moroccan community.
We’ll go through the Valley of One Thousand of Kasbahs. Arrive at Dades Valley in the late afternoon. Dinner and stay overnight at a hotel/riad overlooking the Valley.

Day 2: Boumalne Dades– TODRA GORGES – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA (ERG CHEBBI DESERT):

The following day after your breakfast meal. Will continue through the valley. Stop to see an amazing rock formation that looks like monkey toes. Also the Kasbah of Ait Yul from the 19th century.
Then to Tinghir and Todra Valley here will stop in the panoramic view of villages. Then to Toudgha Gorges, where we will walk under a 300m high red cliff. The cliff is a favorite destination for many rock climbers to practice.
After lunch, we’ll head to Merzouga desert via Erfoud where we will make a break to visit the fossils museum. Then to Merzouga desert overnight in a riad.

Day 3: MERZOUGA – BERBER FAMILIES – BLACK DESERT – MERZOUGA (CAMEL RIDE & NIGHT IN SAHARA):

Today our itinerary 5 days will start after breakfast. Then, we will visit the villages around Erg Chebbi dunes. These include Oasis, Khamlia village, and M’fis.
Khamilia, known as the Gnawi village. They come from southern African countries as slaves in the past. The people there will welcome you with a cup of tea.
Then, they’ll play their lovely Gnawi music. Leaving Khamilia, we will go towards the old abandoned village. There, we will see a panoramic view of the golden dune and Rocky Mountains. We will continue to visit nomads of the region living under tents.
After lunch and rest, you will start the camel ride across the dunes. Before we reach the camp, we will stop to watch the sunset. Then, you will spend the night in a luxury desert camp under a starry sky. You will watch the stars after a fun evening with drum music around the campfire.

Day 4: MERZOUGA – RRISSANI – ALNIF – Draa Valley- AGDZ and Ouarzazate

The best part of the 5-day desert tour from Marrakech is the sunrise over the Erg Chebbi Sand dunes. Our guide will wake you up very early to see it. Then breakfast at the camp, later you will ride back to Merzouga where you’ll meet your driver.
Afterward, we drive towards Ouarzazate through many Berber villages. We pass by Rissani, a traditional old market. We will walk and wander around this typical weekly market.
After leaving Rissani we will head to Alnif where will have our break stop for coffee and lunch in Kasbah Tamnougalte. Then to Agdez, we arrive at Ouarzazate We stay here in a local hotel with dinner and breakfast.

Day 5: Return to Marrakech

On the last day of this tour will have a breakfast meal we will visit the Kasbah Tifoultoute. Then we will continue to Marrakech via Tizi Ntichka, a winding road. We will arrive in the afternoon. This is the end of the 5 day Marrakech desert tour.
