Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate Merzouga
The 2-day tour from Marrakech to the Merzouga Desert starts with a pick up at your Riad in Marrakech at 7:00 . It’s the first day of the tour.
We will go toward the Atlas Mountains. But first, we’ll reach our first site, Kasbah Ait Benhaddou. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This Kasbah is the most impressive and well-preserved fortress city in Morocco. The Moroccan government itself joined in 1994 to fix the Kasbah to keep its heritage.
The Kasbahs were a major stop for camel caravans. The caravans carried salt through the Sahara. They returned with gold, silver, and slaves. After that, we continue along the route.
We reach Ouarzazate, which is the entry point to the Sahara Desert. The city of Ouarzazate . It is well-known for being the location of Hollywood films.
So we continue to make our way, experiencing the Draa Valley en route to the Draa Valley. Then, to Merzouga, we join our camels and head into the desert. We trek for 1 hour to reach our Berber desert camp for the night. The camp provides private Berber tents, the stars being so bright in the desert.
Day 2: Merzouga – Boumalne Dades – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Tizi N’Tichka – Marrakech
The second day of our 2-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga. Wake up early to see the sunrise on the dune in the Sahara Desert. Then, have your breakfast and a hot shower.
After these beautiful moments, you will ride your camel back to the same place where it started. We leave towards Tineghir, passing by Erfoud and Tinejdad. Have a break for lunch.
In the afternoon, we will continue to Todra Gorges via Tinghir. Stopping along the way for photos and admiring the views. Arrive at Todra Gorges to enjoy its marvelous canyon views while hiking on foot.
Later, we drive to Boumalne Dades via Kalaa M’Gouna. We stop for a panoramic view of Dades Valley and the Skoura palm groves. Then make your way to Marrakech via Ouarzazate and the High Atlas Mountains.
After a break for lunch, we will take the road back to Marrakech. We will arrive at around 6 or 7 pm. Your driver will drop you off at your chosen location as our 2-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga ends.
