Day 1: Marrakech- Ait Ben Haddou- Ouarzazate, Dades Valley

Your Marrakech to Fes desert trip begins with a timely 8:00 AM hotel/riad pickup in Marrakech. Departing from the capital, your journey will take you southeast, across the breathtaking High Atlas mountains, which provide magnificent views of traditional Berber villages. We stop at scenic locations along the way to take great photos. 

Lunch is served in the picturesque village of Ait Ben Haddou, where you will also visit the old and iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. Since 1987, this fortified settlement has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has served as the setting for countless great films, including Lawrence of Arabia, Babel, and Gladiator.

Continuing your journey, a brief stop in Ouarzazate allows you to see Africa’s largest film studio (optional inside tour). The tour continues through Boumalne, including a picturesque drive through the Valley of Roses. You may choose to visit the remarkable rock formations known as monkey fingers in Dades Valley before returning to your accommodation or to explore them the next day.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga Desert – Camel trek & night in the desert

Following a great breakfast, we will travel to Tinghir, where we will stop at a scenic viewpoint overlooking a verdant oasis dotted with palm trees and old kasbahs. You may explore the stunning Todgha Canyon, which was created by the meandering Todra gorges and has depths of up to 300 meters.

On the journey to the Merzouga desert, your guide will recommend a stop at a Berber shop. You will have the opportunity to try on a traditional Berber dress and take memorable photographs at no cost. If you decide to make a purchase, please be aware that it is optional. Feel free to inform your guide of your lack of interest, and this stop will be skipped.

Upon arrival at Merzouga, your luggage will be carried to the camp by vehicle, allowing you to go on an exciting camel trip. The sun sets in bright tones of red and orange over the Erg Chebbi dunes, creating a stunning spectacle. Spend a memorable night immersed in the Sahara Desert’s native culture, complete with drumming sessions, storytelling, and the opportunity to gaze at the magnificent night sky.

Day 3: Merzouga Sahara Desert – ziz Valley – Middle Atlas Mountains- Fes

Start your day early and be greeted by a peaceful and stunning sunrise over the erg Chebbi dunes. Following a hearty camp breakfast, you can choose to return to Merzouga by camel or in a comfy 4WD vehicle. Depart Merzouga and head toward Fez.  There, we’ll stop at a panoramic viewpoint to take in the lovely Ziz Valley, which is dotted with lush palm trees and charming Berber villages. While traveling through the Middle Atlas Cedar Forest, keep a watch out for Barbary Apes, a distinct species adapted to colder climes. A brief stop in Ifrane, also known as Morocco’s Switzerland, allows for a quick refreshment and coffee break.

This is a wonderful question! The vehicles we use depend on the number of travelers in your group. We usually use a Toyota Prado Land Cruiser TX, Ford 8 seater van, and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibus that can seat eight to seventeen passengers, as well as other comfortable automobiles.

Absolutely! We offer you a different option. If you prefer not to ride a camel, we may drive you to the camp in a comfortable 4×4 vehicle at no additional expense.

Our payment procedure is simple and hassle-free. To confirm your reservation, we kindly ask for a small deposit. When you make your booking, you can easily pay this deposit via PayPal, bank transfer, or Wise. The outstanding balance is due in cash on the first day of your tour directly to our knowledgeable driver/guide. You have the flexibility to pay in euros, US dollars, or an equivalent sum in dirhams.
